Rescue slowed down over the winter and has remained fairly quiet. We declined one male due to temperament and have referred people who are waiting to other rescues when they were eager for a rescued Berner. Rosie, placed in November after being fostered since September, has thrived in her new forever home. As mentioned before, Rosie (sister to Bria, surrendered in June) was originally from an Amish breeder and was taken in to prevent the breeder from continuing to breed her and her sister Bria. We are grateful to her foster for helping her to acclimate to being in the house, house training her, and helping her learn to trust humans. We are very thankful to her adopters for their loving efforts that have helped Rosie adjust to their household and family, despite so many hurdles.

As always, Rescue takes a lot of commitment and volunteers to work across our region. If you are interested in donating some time (small or large) or funds, please submit a note to [email protected].
