BMDCFL Rescue

I

The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Finger Lakes covers Upstate New York State outside of New York City and Long Island and upper Pennsylvania (where due to topography it is closer to NYS than PA). Over the past year, the Rescue Committee has successfully assisted eight Bernese Mountain Dogs to find their forever homes. A number of volunteers work together to identify, screen, assess Berners in need, foster, place and follow up with adopting families. We are working with shelters and other rescues in our region to assist or refer where possible. As a club, we maintain a website (BMDCFL.org) and two Facebook pages (Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Finger Lakes Rescue and Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Finger Lakes).

We are grateful for any donations to help offset the costs taking in these Berners in need. Most Berners cost us $500-$2000 each to update their health care and neuter or spay. Our volunteers have been generous in donating transportation, dog food, behavioral consulting, and time. If you are interested in donating your efforts (small or large) or funds, please submit a note to [email protected]. Your comments and feedback are and will continue to be welcome.
